Working with aligned, spacious hips and an open but strong pelvis will be our theme this winter. The pelvis and the femur bones are our largest, densest bones, also our most dense muscles re-unite in the hip and pelvis region. This ten week session will look at the complex attachments of the femur bones to the pelvis (the hip joint) and the pelvis to the spine (the sacrum and lower back). We'll explore how to have a deep connection in the hip joint and how to maintain balance in the pelvis. Deep hip openers as well as breath work and core muscle strengthening will lead the way to more consciousness and healthy sensation in the pelvis.

The pelvis is shaped like a bowl. The spine roots itself in the back of the pelvis. The bowl of the pelvis is the container for the intestines and other essential organs. We're starting with the bottom and moving up: A healthy alignment in the pelvis improves circulation and freedom of movement for the whole body.
